Dell Marking Systems

  Technology

Never has there been more pressure on manufacturing to produce higher volume at lower cost and with greater efficiency. That is why marking is gaining in popular acceptance. Dell is at the forefront of that growth. We have thirty years of experience and innovation in marking systems and supplies. We are the only full service, self contained manufacturer of marking systems, and we formulate a line of marking inks that are fully approved by the major automotive manufacturers. Many companies claim to be state-of-the-art, but it is Dell products that they emulate.

Dell leadership in the marking industry is a direct result - not only of having developed the most comprehensive array of non-contact and contact marking devices - but of providing complete system design responsibility. Moreover, Dell has developed and offers with its systems the broadest array of inks developed specifically for marking. We are continuing to lead and set the pace with new ideas. Check out our new disposable markers and the repackaged QP Jr. low-lint solvent wipes.

Why Mark?

These are but a few of the current production reasons for the application of marking.

  • Quality control results
  • Identify source/supplier/shift/line
  • Differentiate parts
  • Denote in-process status
  • Record date or part number
  • Balance weight positioning
  • Permanent color coding
  • Identify left or right, heavy or light parts
  • Identify tolerance differences between look-alike parts.

Success Stories

All of the systems shown were customer challenges that met and exceeded expectations. Data sheets are available on all of the examples described here. The literature gives details of each system, plus features, benefits and technical data.

1. Unlimited length striping on moving parts such as reinforced cable, hose lines, tubing and extrusions is made easy with the lightweight, compact, Dell Marking System DMS-1B-A19-1D-E6. This system has been designed for limited space installation.

2. Quality control identification on stationary parts such as automotive components, subassemblies, and assemblies. For this Application Dell has developed the DMS-1B-B21-1C-E6 system.

3. Critical identification during manufacturing processes require consistent success and reliable, accurate marking on parts/products such as tires, springs and valve stems to name just a few. The Dell Marking System DMS-1233 provides this accuracy and reliability.

4. Multi-color parts classification for individual parts, sub-assemblies, and assemblies such as engine block cylinder dimensions, cylinder heads, pistons, rings, and other bored and machined surfaces. The DMS-4B-G32-4B-E6 system accurately defines part tolerance variations when they must be accurately identified.
